2007 Teach In Photos of this years event Back to Annual Teach - In
This years Teach In was held at Moor Farm on the 21st July, and was fished on all three lakes, as the whistle blew to commence each session, it was all hands on for the pupils, using the tutors own tackle and with tuition being given on a one to one basis. The tutors carefully explained the angling method in use (either Pole, Feeder or Waggler), and the enjoyment on the pupil’s faces as they started to catch was all too apparent. The tutors are all members of Pulborough Angling Society, and give their time freely and allowed the use of their own angling equipment, allowing pupils to have some of the best training and tackle available. Each year the event becomes more and more popular with this year’s event being no exception, with parents and pupils travelling many miles to attend, all of the pupils and members taking part in the event had a great time and we are pleased to say every pupil caught fish, some for the first time in their lives, there were also a few funny moments to be had, which we captured on camera, both still & video, photographs and video's of the event can viewed by clicking on the link above. At the end of the day the pupils in both the AM and PM sessions caught a total weight in excess 100Kg over the two three hour sessions. This year also saw the introduction of a new marquee that the Society has purchased for it's events, this proved to be invaluable, especially when numerous heavy rain showers passed through during the course of the day, the marquee, keeping the ladies in the chuck wagon and "Uncle" Dave Laker, who ran the raffle nice & dry. As always we would like to express our deep appreciation to Karen Ginnaw, Sandy Emery, Simon & Carol Parker for keeping the troops fed and watered, with an unending supply of bacon butties, burgers and hot dogs, not to mention gallons of tea and coffee. The amount of work required to run this event is quite staggering and the Society would like to thank the following members for their dedication in making sure the event runs smoothly, Sheila Olliver for the overall organisation of the event, Paul Mitchell for organising the food, Mark Emery for his duties as Press Officer in publicising the event, Dave Laker for running the raffle, not to mention the members who built and dismantled the marquee, organised the water and gas supplies, put up road signs etc. Our thanks also go out to the Environment Agency, Arun Angling & Carringdale Angling for their continued support of this event, in addition we would like to publicly thank the members of the tackle trade who kindly donated items of tackle, both large and small for use as prizes for the anglers who underwent tuition. See you next year........
