Tasks can be found for all ages & abilities, please help the few to maintain YOUR fisheries as they don't look after themselves, all help gratefully accepted, even if its just an hour of your time.

If you have any questions regarding a particular work party, please do not hesitate to contact the person responsible for it, you can find their contact details in your membership book and/or the contacts page on the website.

INTRODUCTION - ATTENDING PAS VOLUNTEER DAYS

This note is for all volunteers who are undertaking organised volunteer activities for Pulborough Angling Society whilst COVID-19 restrictions are in place. All volunteers are responsible for following them to ensure our activities are COVID-19 secure. It will be updated as Government guidance changes.

This version is based on:

If you have any doubt about your fitness to volunteer, or the contents of this guidance note, please call the task leader as detailed on the Work Parties page on our website to discuss your concerns.

You no longer need to remain
1m apart from anyone you don’t live with, you are instead encouraged to exercise caution and consider the guidance on risks associated with COVID-19 and actions you can take to help keep you and your loved ones safe.

Remember that the risks of close contact may be greater for some people than others and in some settings and circumstances,
there will be specific guidance that you will need to follow even when you are with friends and family.

You should follow the Govt guidance on how to stop the spread of coronavirus at all times, including if you have been vaccinated against COVID-19.

ATTENDING PAS VOLUNTEER DAYS

Please do not attend a task day if:

  • You live alone and have had symptoms of COVID-19, however mild, within the previous 7 days.

  • You live with others and anyone at your home has had COVID-19 symptoms within the previous 14 days. COVID-19 symptoms are:

• a cough,

• and/or high temperature,

•and/or loss of, or change in, your normal sense of smell or taste.

  • You are ‘clinically vulnerable’. Unfortunately you are not able to attend our organised volunteer activities, until such time that official guidance states otherwise

  • These guidance notes apply equally to all, including those who have had the vaccine.

ORGANISATION OF WORKING PARTIES

  • The maximum number of people who can attend a working party/event is unlimited.

  • Work parties will be advertised on our website and Facebook page and will include details of the task leader for the day and the tasks to be undertaken.

  • There is not currently any need to notify the task leader of your intention to attend a work party or event, if you want to come and help, just turn up on the day, however you will be required to register your details for Covid19 Test & Trace purposes, see section below.

MINIMISING THE RISK OF TRANSMISSION DURING TASKS

  • Please bring your own hand sanitiser and use it before, after and during a task (for example after opening a gate).

  • Do not share tools and normal PPE (e.g. leather gloves). Ideally please bring your own PPE.

  • The task leader will open the container for tool collection. Each volunteer will need to go into the container one at a time to collect and replace the equipment that they have used, all tools and equipment are to be put away in the proper place, not just dumped in the container or on the work bench for someone else to put away, possibly putting them at risk of infection by cross contamination.

TEST & TRACE

If attending a work party or event you will be required to register your details for Covid19 Test & Trace purposes, if you do not wish to register your details, please do not attend.

We are required by law to keep a record of all attendees, these details will be kept secure and your details will not be passed on to anyone nor used to contact you, unless demanded by the lawful authorities of the United Kingdom should the need to Test & Trace be required.

FOOD & DRINK

Make sure that you bring your own food and drink for breaks. No kettles, cups, drinks containers, bottles or food & drink can be shared and nor will it be provided.

NOTES

Remember to apply your hand sanitiser after any task, such as returning tools to the container and wash your hands thoroughly when you return home.

These notes are for your and our safety and to help minimise the spread of Covid19, if you cannot abide by these simple rules then please do not attend, anyone attending a work party or event and found to be wilfully breaking these rules may face disciplinary action from the committee.
