PULBOROUGH ANGLING SOCIETY
Pulborough Angling Society, established in 1919, are one of the most forward looking and progressive angling clubs in the South of England.
Pulborough Angling Society has been steadily growing over recent years and the credit for this must be attributed not only to our management committee, all of whom are active anglers covering a multitude of disciplines, but also to our membership who care about their waters and their fishing.
The knowledge that the Societies Officers and Committee members hold means they are fully aware of the requirements of their fellow anglers and can therefore work proactively towards ensuring that our fisheries provide quality fishing.
Pulborough Angling Society are in the fortunate position of owning our own fishery and this allows a certain level of freedom not often found within an angling club, we invest heavily in what we own and have a carefully worked out stocking and maintenance plan which ensures that not only does the fishery look superb, but the fishing is too.
We hold regular working parties at our Goose Green fishery during the winter months where we aim to do the bulk of our heavy maintenance work, irregular working parties are held later in the year, where we usually spend three or four days during the summer months cutting the grass and undertaking light maintenance, well, we want to go fishing too.
Members are always welcome to attend work parties, which are generally very light hearted, even though we do have a job to do, we do not insist on members spending a certain number of days working as part of their membership, we would rather have six who want to be there, than 16 who don't.
Our rivers offer some incredible sport, recent seasons have witnessed Bream to over 7lbs & Roach to over 2lbs, combined bags have been averaging 35lb+ with red letter days producing bags of Bream to over 100lbs.
The requirements of anglers of all disciplines is the same - we all want waters capable of yielding a good bag of fish, Pulborough Angling Society provides this not only with our very own 80 peg, six lake/pond complex at Goose Green near Ashington, West Sussex, but with over seven miles of fishing on the Rivers Arun, Adur & Rother and fishing on two other local ponds, we have something to offer anglers of all abilities and specialities.
